Introduction
Pretty Soldier Sailor
Moon was a manga series written by Naoko Takeuchi, it later became an anime
and a musical drama play in Japan. The series is about a school girl who discovers
she was once the princess of the moon and is a soldier of justice, destined
to fight evil. The Shadow Galactica come from the fifth series of the Sailor
Moon manga and anime. They were lead by a Sailor Soldier named Sailor Galaxia
who wanted to take over the entire galaxy. She pitted Sailor Soldier against
Sailor Soldier in an ultimate fight against good and evil.
In any of the incarnations, it was the first time Sailor Moon had to face another like herself. She faced some of her greatest challenges including losing all that she loved. Even if the lines between good and evil were blurred, she still came out on top despite having all of her weaknesses thrown at her.
Galaxia was evil and ruthless, but in the end she was saved, though the outcome is different between the anime, manga, and musicals. She was meant as a character to contrast Sailor Moon -- a soldier who fought for destruction instead of peace. She dealt with her problems, though similar, in a completely different way than Sailor Moon.
And in the end, that is why she lost.
But the story of the Shadow Galactica empire, through all of its versions, will live on.
